How to test in IE with Linux

Usually I have two computers to work with - my development machine, Ubuntu, and a test machine running Windows. The test machine is in surgery and I need to pass the test in IE8. Unfortunately, I can’t get him to run under the wine. I tried the IE NetRenderer add-in for Firefox, but all it does is take a screenshot of the page. I have dynamic code (ajax) that I need to check.

Any ideas?

Do not try to run it under Wine - such a test will be invalid anyway.

Just install Windows in the virtual machine. It is easy.

I'm trying https://github.com/xdissent/ievms now, people are reporting that it works. microphone

I use Linux and use VirtualBox and various Windows images obtained from http://www.modern.ie/en-us/virtualization-tools#downloads

They supply old versions of Windows with an updated license, which is super default seeds. This means that you can restore the image to a 30-day trail indefinitely.

I use the same system to work with OSX

I used this site very sparingly (when I did not have a Windows machine with IE Tester). Ultimately, the cost of a subscription fee, but you can also do a free trial.

This section is located at https://askubuntu.com/questions/190425/how-to-install-internet-explorer-multiple-versions I use http://www.playonlinux.com . After installing playOnLinux, launch it and add a new IE8 or another.

Try using WINE to run and install Windows applications such as IE.

If this does not work, it is possible to create Windows in a virtual machine such as VMWare.
