Reporting Services 2008 - Long Signatures Cause Page Breaks

Similar to this question , but I have one β€œmain” report that contains many subscriptions. Everything works fine until one of the subheadings during the visualization (for example, in PDF format) takes up the space remaining on the page. In this case, the page is torn so that the subtitle begins with a new page. Sometimes it looks incredibly inconvenient when one report takes up little space on one page, then it jumps to the next page because the next report below is too long. Any suggestions? This is not a width / margin issue, because when all the subheadings are short, it looks good. In addition, I use HTML placeholders, and I don't have the fields set in the subheadings, and I haven't checked any of them:

  • Add page break before
  • Add page break after
  • Keep content on one page, if possible.

Reporting Services 2008 has a new feature in Subreport called KeepTogether . This was always true in 2005, but did not change it. We made great strides in getting rid of empty space and blank pages in 2008 (with the exception of the dynamic height property in the diagrams, but this is another ticket).

Also check KeepTogether on grids , rectangles , etc. and make them all False if you don’t want to stay together.

Do you have any groupings in the subheadings that indicate page breaks? If so, this may result in a page break. regardless of the settings in the "master" report.
