Delete Backup Files Folder in Visual Studio 2008

Visual Studio 2008 automatically creates a folder located (in Vista) at:

C:\Users\%username%\Documents\Visual Studio 2008

And I'm fine with this place. What I don't like is the Backup Files folder, which appears inside Visual Studio 2008.

I do not know when this folder is created and why, because it is always empty. Well, in the folder itself there are several folders for some of my projects, but these folders are always empty, they never seem to copy anything. I also do not care, I probably turned off the backup function, and if not, then this does not work properly. In any case, I do not care that VS does not take care of my backups automatically.

All I want to do is delete the Backup Files folder permanently, but every time I do this, it continues to appear ... I also tried to hide it, but it doesnโ€™t work, the folder becomes unopened suddenly.

How can I get rid of this folder once and for all?

I had never heard of the Backup Files folder - until I went and looked. Here it is!

Disable the auto-recovery option to prevent creation: Tools | Options | Wednesday | Autosave

When I updated some projects from 2005 to 2008, I received the โ€œBackupโ€ folder with a full copy of the project, as it was during the upgrade.

As far as I can tell, it has not updated files since.

As for why VS2008 will create an empty folder, if you are not updating, I do not know - sorry.

ChrisF: you can disable this feature by using the checkbox (when requesting conversion), marked as something like "back up"

Chris Lively: This is a VS2008 feature described by Sean - not an ordinary thing.

I have never heard of the backup files folder. This is either an add-in or a custom build script.
