DTAssetProviderService was unable to start DTXConnection using Simulator

After upgrading to Xcode 7.3, I cannot run my application in iOS Simulator.

Every time I try, I get the following error message:

DTAssetProviderService was unable to start DTXConnection using Simulator 'iPhone ...'. Check the system log for errors.

I checked the following Apple Developer Forum , but did not provide any solution. Suddenly, when I cleaned and deleted the old application from the simulator and rebuilt it, it works great. This question was not only the first time.

Screenshot of the cited error message above.

Can someone explain this problem in detail?

My guess is for this problem: I'm not sure, but I assume that when I updated Xcode, the iOS version upgraded to 9.3, but the application was already installed in the iPhone 6 Plus simulator when the old version (9.2) was installed. Therefore, when I tried to run the application with iOS 9.3, I was configured only for iOS 9.2, and due to incompatibility, it crashed.

Killing the simulator and restarting it from Xcode helped me.

Maybe you're using macOS Sierra, which breaks Xcode 7.3.1 (Mac repository version)

Use Xcode 8 beta or Xcode 7.3.1.dmg downloaded from the Mac developer portal to fix https://developer.apple.com/downloads

Yes, this happens after upgrading to Xcode 7.3 and maybe you are launching it for the first time in a simulator.

When you see this error, just click "Ok", but do not leave Simulator or Xcode, Simulator will continue its process and you will see a progress bar. Run it first, and then run the project again, you can make it successful.

I left my Xcode and Simulator, and then opened my project and ran again, this worked for me. But I do not understand what a mistake and why it occurred.

  • Exit Xcode and Simulator
  • Delete source data [Right-click on the search device and select "Go to Folder" Type ~ / Library / Developer / Xcode / DerivedData / in the text box. redirects you to the DerivedData folder.
  • Delete all folders inside it.
  • Restart Xcode and run the project again.

Your problem will be solved.

Yes, this happens after upgrading to Xcode 7.3 and, possibly, the first time you run your project in a simulator.

Below are the solutions 1) Try resetting the simulator 2) End / Kill the simulator 3) End / Kill Xcode and run it again.

Hope any of the above 3 help you.

Just remove the old application from the simulator by going to: Hardware β†’ Home (here you will return to the main screen of the simulator). Now press and hold the old application icon on the simulated home screen until all applications begin to hesitate. Click the cross and you will be asked to confirm the deletion.

Now create the application again and everything will be fine.

For me, it was a problem installing WebSense by my IT department. Libraries are known to be embedded in other processes, such as Simulator. After removal, it worked again.

For me, exiting Xcode and Simulator (Reset) and restarting the Mac is allowed.
