Well, I found two possible solutions.
1. Installing a new product key using StorePID.exe ( MS Docs ).
- go to the VS 2017 installation directory (
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Visual Studio\2017\Enterprise\Common7\IDE ) - run
cmd as administrator - run
StorePID.exe <your_new_product_key> <MPC> - maybe reboot
Possible Microsoft Product Codes (MPC):
08860 Visual Studio Enterprise 201708862 Visual Studio Professional 201708866 Visual Studio Test Professional 2017
2. First remove the product key and install a new one.
- open registry editor
- go to
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Licenses\5C505A59-E312-4B89-9508-E162F8150517 and delete it - complete the repair installation VS 2017
- enter the new product key in Help> Register Product
This is not the best way to solve it, but faster than uninstalling and installing the full IDE.
