ReSharper - Unstable for anyone else?

I have seen the Jetbrain ReSharper tool in many must-have tool lists. I installed it several times over the past few years, and it turned my Visual Studio sluggish and unstable. Usually I delete it after a week or two, because VS flaky does it, I like it, but I can’t overcome the instability.

So what is the deal? I was not lucky? Does the tool have problems, but utility weighs problems? Anyone else have problems with this? Are there any unpleasant disconnect options?

The only thing I saw that makes VS slow when R # is on is a lack of RAM and a slow processor.

Saying, the only time I see slowness is working in VB. C # EVERYTHING flames quickly. The current computer that I have is not as good as my last, but it has 2 GB of RAM and a dual-core P4 (3.20 GHz).

Things that CAN slow R # down though:

  • Configuring solution errors
  • A code that has many, many errors.
  • Code in which there are a lot of analysis errors.
  • Rush code is also installed

I have the same problems. Performance is very good, but my machine has 6 GB of memory and a quad-core processor. This permanent system freezes, the unit test works freezes, the visual studio crashes when opening solutions, etc., which means that I deleted it. I have Vista Business 64, but all the rest are added and programmed, I work fine. If I remove resharper 4.1, everything will start working again.

There again it was the same on my dual-core laptop.

Visual Assist X seems solid in comparison, but it doesn't have many features (that's half the price). Ste

I’ve been experiencing what you are talking about for many years, but I have to say that I recently switched to version 4.0 of ReSharper, many of these overheads were significantly reduced, and it seems to be a little more functional to download.

Try again. What is the worst that could happen? Will you delete it again? No big losses.

The only thing I found remotely sluggish is right-clicking.

The right-click menu bar takes time to load, but the time I'm wasting right-clicking is much less compared to the time when it saves me refactoring.
