How to remove the .NET platform?

I have a problem with the VS 2005 application on some machines, not others. I looked at the error message in google and found a message from someone who had the same error, and fixed it by uninstalling and reinstalling the .NET platform. When I try to do this, Windows will not allow me because it is used.

I expected that first I will delete everything that the framework uses, then remove the framework, then reinstall, etc.? Does anyone know an easier way?

Check out the Aaron Stebner .NET Framework Cleanup Tool . It works very well.

Boot into safe mode and remove the framework from the add / remove programs.
