How to define Easter egg mode in Palm OS app?

From the first days of work in Palm OS, a special Easter egg mode appeared, which made it possible to make the right gesture in one of the Preferences panels. On current Palm Treo and Centro devices, it turns on by turning clockwise above the Tips button on the power panel.

Some applications, such as the Blazer web browser, include special features when Easter eggs are active. How can I detect this in my own program?

The standard system preference for this is prefAllowEasterEggs (see Preference.h). This parameter can be accessed using the PrefGetPreference API:

UInt32 enableEasterEggs = PrefGetPreference(prefAllowEasterEggs); 

The value will be nonzero if the user requested that Easter eggs be available.
