Source code encryption

I am working on a relatively sensitive code that we would not want to fall into the wrong hands. Until now, all the code was stored in the house, so it was not a problem. I move to work from home a day or two a week, and we want to provide the code on my laptop.

We looked at several alternatives, but Windows EFS and Bitlocker seem the most obvious. There is no TPM equipment on the laptop, and I will not have access to Active Directory from home, so EFS looks like an option.

Basically, does anyone have any other alternatives or problems using EFS to encrypt the source code?

+1 for TrueCrypt. We use it at work, that's great.

Tip. It seems that if you have a large code base and you work with several working copies at the same time, you will get much better performance if each working copy is on its own encrypted partition.

You MAY want to encrypt PARTS data, not all of them for speed and simplification issues, however, using the encrypted volume of Windows will also be quite simple. Do not forget that if you must encrypt the entire source, remember that it is best to encrypt the entire development machine, and not just one volume, because temporary files or swap files can contain decrypted information.
