Any other Lotus Notes IDEs other than Domino Designer?

Are there any other IDEs that are worth my time developing Lotus Notes? We are doing the basic development of LotusScript and will kill for Eclipse or Visual Studio functions, for example, Show Ad. I know that the Eclipse plugin for Java development is in the notes , but it looks like it is only Java, and we have too many fragments of legacy code in LotusScript to abandon it.

Lotus Notes has moved to the Eclipse platform in version 8. You can run the client in two different modes, the base mode that we all know, or the Eclipse platform (you know as standard). The IDE is also moving to eclipse, a beta version of 8.5 is currently available with the new IDE on Eclipse. Keep in mind that this is a beta version and is not complete.

Time is on our side.

Eclipse-based Domino Designer is now free to download from http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/ls/dominodesigner/learn.html

It has brilliant Java and LotusScript editors with all the nice Eclipse features like refactoring and custom class types.

Every addict from Domino should look at this. Admins, too, since the aforementioned download includes a client admin.

Starting with version 8.5, Domino Designer starts as an Eclipse application. 8.5.1 will bring a whole bunch of improvements, including editing LotusScript and Java based on Eclipse, as well as improvements to performance, stability and XPages.

The closest you'll find is Teamstudio LotusScript Browser .

This is not very good, but it is free and almost makes up for it.

Features:

  • No keyboard shortcuts support.
  • Not fully integrated into the constructor, so a little sluggish.
  • Only works in script libraries
  • It really has search and link definition functions that are practically useful.

There is also a popular LotusScript plugin for eclipse.

Teamstudio sells a number of tools to help your Lotus Notes development, and it looks like they can do some of the things you want, but it doesn't look like they can be compiled into an IDE.

(Disclosure: I worked at a subsidiary of Team Studio several years ago, but had nothing to do with their products)

You can give Zeus IDE a test disk. It has a high and neutral orientation, so it can be configured for Lotus Notes .

Zeus automatically maintains a tag database based on the information created by ctags , so provided ctags generates tag information for Lotus Notes , it will be able to display, view the browser and look for this information.

PS: If you decide to give it a test disk and make sure it does not support Notes correctly, feel free to post a bug report to the Zeus Forum .
