Windows (Vista): Set the process priority in the program shortcut

Is there a way to start a program using a shortcut that sets the process priority for this program?

iTunes drags my system to its knees, but when I set the priority of the process to “low”, somehow, like magic, Windows returns to normal operation :)

Every day you learn something new.

My answer was incorrect, but since it was marked, I am editing to be right.

Change your short span to point to:

start /BELOWNORMAL iTunes.exe

Instead of iTunes.exe

I had iTunes consuming most processors. There must be a thread that has disappeared. This is a particular burning problem. I burn a lot of coasters because of this running thread, which competes for the processor with a burning thread, and I end up with a lot of coasters instead of playable CDs.

Lowering the priority in iTunes does not really fix the problem with iTunes. It simply sets the priority lower so that the runaway thread does not get as many CPUs and other processes that need a processor, but will receive it.

I want Apple to fix this error because it still causes even the latest version of iTunes, which I launch in August 2009.
