What are the preferred plugins for monitoring and analyzing the performance of a Rails application? I am looking for both database / query analyzers and the rest of the stack, if possible, although not necessarily in one plugin. Which ones do you recommend? (Bonus points for free :)
For example, this one looks like spify.
RAWK I regularly received performance reports by email. It works by analyzing rail production logs and is always good for me.
I recently learned about Scout from my article on rail monitoring , but I haven’t yet had the opportunity to try it out, it looks promising!
+1 for a new relic.
We’ll also look at five runs, I didn’t play with it, but it seems to have loopback mode for development mode, in the new relic creation mode
Derek here from Scout - we added the Rails toolkit as a plugin. This means that you will get a breakdown of where the query time is spent (db, rendering, etc.), as well as optimization suggestions for slow MySQL queries.
You can play with instruments on our free plan.

This provides information about query parsers in Rails.
