Using Resharper Unit Test Runner for MSTest via Gallio

Question

I am trying to get a Resharper test runner to find out my MSTest unit tests through Gallio .

I have the following installed: VSTS 2005 8.0.50727.762 Resharper 4.1 Gallio 3.0.0.285

I also run Windows XP x64.

Unit test options indicate that NUnit is available. I think I should have the wrong version control. Can someone point me in the right direction? Am I barking the wrong tree and it only works in VS2k8?

UPDATE: Well, I upgraded Gallio to GallioBundle-3.0.4.385-Setup, and now it appears in the unit test options for R #. But when running tests in R # or Icarus, the following error occurs:

Failures cannot run tests because MSTest executable could not be found

This seems to be Gallio's problem. It appears that only the version of MSTest that ships with VS2k8 is supported. The XML format for vsmdi has changed between versions.

I'm not sure if this applies to your question, but the latest news on the Gallio website read:

Gallio and ReSharper 4.0
Several people asked when Gallio supported the final release of ReSharper 4.0. Unfortunately, there were some last-minute violations of the ReSharper 4.0 Beta and Final release. Thus, the ReSharper plugin in Gallio Alpha 3 Update 2 will not work anymore. It doesn't matter ... we plan to release another Gallio update later this week.

Update: just saw that this applies to an earlier version than you used, so ignore it.

ReSharper 4.5 supports MSTest out of the box.

The recently updated MSTest ReSharper plugin also appeared: http://www.sneal.net/blog/2009/01/24/MSTestReSharper4Plugin.aspx

I was able to successfully use it with ReSharper 4.1 in Visual Studio 2005.
