Since CMMI does not tell you how to do this, the only reason CMMI is "hard" is because people prefer to do it in a hard way.
If I want to get 10 kg, I could do it in an "easy" way (for example, eat healthy calories and lots of protein, lift weight three times a week ...), or I could do it in a "hard" way (for example , eat fattening and salty food, watch TV on the couch all day ...).
Supposing 10 kg is a good idea in the first place .... but you get the idea, right?
The key to incorporating CMMI into your work in an easy way is to understand the intended outcome of each goal and its practices and determine how that goal adds value and how you can combine practice with your work so that they add value to your work.
