The application could not start after updating the version of PlayService as 12.0.0

Question

I have a problem trying to create an application after the version updateervice version to 12.0.0, but it works fine with version 11.8.0. It shows the binding folder not found in the application.

Message:

Note I can run when I downgrade playervice and firebase to 11.8.0

I had the same problem (just using some things from the database, not data bindings). Working with 11.8.0, but when upgrading to 12.0.0 it no longer compiles.

I was able to fix this by realizing that I have an old version of play-services-auth . This should match the firebase version.

I use resolutionStrategy (see fooobar.com/questions/25649 / ... ) to overcome this when these dependencies come from different modules and libraries:

Update your build tools to 3.1.0 and try adding the google() repository to your build.gradle project:

Clean and rebuild the project. Most of the time I do this. It solves all problems.
