Mixpanel-2-latest.min.js: 9 Mixpanel error: "mixpanel" object not initialized

mixpanel-2-latest.min.js: 9 Mixing error: object "mixpanel" is not initialized. Make sure you use the latest version of the Mixpanel JS library along with the provided snippet.

Since the last couple of days, I see this error in the console when I check an item in my Google Chrome. I am using the latest version of Chrome 64. I am not using mixpanel . It also appears if I open any public website. Any idea how to resolve this error?

Check your extensions, for me it was the "Page Ruler" ( https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/page-ruler/jlpkojjdgbllmedoapgfodplfhcbnbpn?hl=nl ) that caused this error. Disable all extensions systematically until the error no longer occurs.

I started getting this error from blue. It was a hrome extension PageRuler. I destroyed PageRuler and the error went away.

Alternatively, you can go to the Page Ruler options menu and uncheck the "Send anonymous usage statistics" box. This will allow you to continue to use the extensions without seeing the error message.

No need to remove "Page Ruler", instead of uninstalling, follow these steps:

Page listing options menu and uncheck "Send anonymous usage statistics."

I checked all the answers provided here. Everyone said to disable the "Send anonymous usage statistics" checkbox in the settings ....

I think hiding the problem does not solve the problem . Since there was a new version of PageRuler (I had 2.1.2 , the newest one is currently 2.1.3 ), I uninstalled the old one, reinstalled the new one and from now on, regardless of whether I send statistics or not, the error is not appaers anymore.
