Validating Eclipse CDT in XML files (not C ++)

In Eclipse Oxygen with CDT, I can configure spell checking for most file types in

Preferences > General > Editors > Text Editors > Spelling

However, for the XML files that are apparently open in the "Structured Text Editor", I cannot find such an option.

Is it hidden somewhere or closed by a good plugin?

Update

The manual indicates spell checking for the "Structured Text Editor", but this does not match the actual user interface; neither "Window"> "Settings"> "Spellcheck" does not exist as described, and "Edit> Spellcheck":

Window> Preferences & Spell Checking Edit> Spell Check

EDIT: This seems to be a known bug / function request:

Perhaps fixed the installation of Java tools on top.

DO NOT HELP:

There is an article about this in the eclipse help system: http://help.eclipse.org/kepler/index.jsp?topic=%2Forg.eclipse.wst.sse.doc.user%2Ftopics%2Ftsrcedt010.html

In addition, Eclipse must have an β€œOpen With” context menu entry with which you can open a text file and check spelling.
