Why does Firebase email verification take a long time to deliver after creating a user on the Internet?

Environment:

  • Web / Angular4
  • (package) firebase v4.3

Happening:

  • The user lands on our site and decides to register.
  • User selects email address / password as authentication type.
  • User enters email address and password.
  • Login is created in Firebase and verified. Email is sent.
  • The user is prompted to check the email before continuing and log out of the site.

My problem is that the confirmation letter takes about 30 minutes, which is a problem, since we would like them to be able to check almost immediately so that the user can continue their registration / order.

Is the delay backed up by firebase email servers?

Is it possible to expedite the delivery?

Thanks Matt Tiping

I could write an answer to this so that it does not remain open.

bojeil-google answered a Github question to this question:

Hi @eljass, this is due to some problems with the SendGrid service that Firebase Auth uses to send emails (password reset, email verification, etc.). If you are still experiencing these delays, please go there: https://firebase.google.com/support/

Here is the link to the question: Github issue # 234
