Unable to visit website on iOS Simulator - ā€œThis connection is not privateā€

I am currently creating an extension for viewing the watch and want to use the simulator because it is much simpler and faster than creating my actual Apple Watch every time.

However, I had a problem with the simulator, where I can’t visit any websites due to the error "This connection is not private." This was usually not a problem, except in my case I need to log in to my iOS using Facebook, and I ran into the same problem. When using SFSafariViewController message is slightly different:

Safari cannot open the page because it could not establish a secure connection to the server

I looked at the Safari settings on the simulator to find out if there is any protection that I can turn off, but could not find anything. Is there any way around this problem?

I am currently using Xcode 9.1 and macOS High Sierra 10.13.1

It works for me after removing all antivirus programs from my Mac. Hope this will be helpful for you.

Good morning,

I had the same problem with Avast on my Mac. You do not need to delete it, just go to the settings and disable "Web Shield" while you use the simulator: For more details, see image

If you do not want to disable it for all websites, you can add the server to the excluded list: For more details see image

Hope this helps! Best wishes.

It looks like you're probably running App Transport Security , which is why applications need to connect to servers securely. In most cases, all you have to do is change the URL method you use from HTTP to HTTPS.
