I am using Android Studio 2.3.3, Android SDK tools v26.0.2 and HAXM 6.2.1 emulator.
edit (2017/11/10 update): Also tried using Android Studio 3.0, Android SDK tools 27.0.1, HAXM emulator 6.2.1, x86 Google Play.
I downloaded the Android 8.0 platform (O, API level 26, version 2) and created a new emulator:
Create-> Phone-> Nexus 5X with Play Store support-> Image x86 API 26 (Google Play), standard settings:
After loading the emulator, I get a message in the notification tray that says "Unsupported virtual SD card. This device does not support this virtual SD card. Click to configure in a supported format."
I do this and select internal or external storage and then I get an error:

I tried to delete and recreate this image, update Android Studio, update Android Tools and update the SDK. This works great with API 23 and 24 emulators. Has anyone seen this before or had any ideas on what I can try?
