How to get a certificate subscription request

How to get a certificate signing request? All I'm trying to do is get my app to work on my iPod touch. It was easy, as I could just go to the iOS development portal and just download one, without fuss. But now they want me to create a CSR to create a training profile, and I don’t know how to do it. I have been doing Keychain Access and online docs for most of two hours, and I'm still completely lost.

I'm not even sure why I need it now, when I did not do this before. I had a training profile before I recently switched from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion, but now he will not take it. Yes, I'm still on the same computer.

Since you installed the new OS, you probably no longer have your private and public keys to which you previously signed the application in Xcode. You need to restore these keys on your computer by canceling the previous certificate and asking for a new one on the iOS development portal. As part of the process, you will be asked to create a certificate signing request in which you have a problem.

You will find everything you need, which consists of (from an official document):

1. Access key fobs on your Mac (in applications / utilities).

2. Open "Settings" and click on "Certificates". Verify that the Online Certificate Status Protocol and certificate revocation list are set to Off.

3.Select access to the key fobs> Certificate Assistant> Request a certificate from a certification authority.

Note. If you have the private key that you have selected, CSR will not be accepted. Make sure the private key is not selected. Enter your user email address and common name. Use the same address and name that you used to register with the iOS Developer Program. No CA email address required.

4. Select the options "Saved to disk" and "Let me specify a key pair of information" and click "Continue".

5. Specify a file name and click "Save."

For key size, select 2048 bits and for algorithm select RSA. Click Continue, and the certificate assistant creates a CSR and saves the file to the location you specify.

To manually create a certificate, you will need a Certificate Signing Request (CSR) file from your Mac. To create a CSR file, follow the instructions below to create it using Keychain Access.

Create a CSR file. In the Applications folder on your Mac, open the Utilities folder and launch Key Access.

From the Keychain Access drop-down menu, select Keychain Access> Certificate Administration Agent> Request Certificate from Certificate Authority.

In the Certificate Information window, enter the following information: In the User Email Address field, enter your email address. In the Common Name field, create a name for your private key (for example, John Doe Dev Key). The CA email address field must be blank. In the "Request" group, select the "Saved to disk" option. Click Continue in Keychain Access to complete the CSR generation process.
