Why does the Google Oauth2 consent form display a company URL instead of a product name?

This was possible since a is a setting in the Google Developer Console .

Google recently made a number of changes to the OAuth consent form. This is a direct result of hacking Gmail phishing a few months ago. One change is that, as you can see, the application application is now displayed instead of the application name. It was believed that it would be easier for users to understand that they provide access to their data, and not to which application has access to their data. This is not something you can change.
