How to get furniture models from 3d.io in ARKit

I show furniture from furniture.3d.io in my AR application, which works well in web representation using Google WebARonARKit and aframe. However, tracking and lighting seem to be better when using ARKit.

ARKit requires models to be in .scn, .dae, or .obj formats. Is there a way to export furniture from 3d.io so that I can use it in my application? Aframe has a gltf exporter that I could use, so I could try to manually convert several models using 3d.io β†’ .gltf β†’ .dae and blender, but I can’t figure out how to do this in a more automatic way.

I suggest you switch from 3d.io β†’ .blend β†’ export.dae for any model that you want to take in ARKit. Blender has a great collada exporter.

I'm not sure that exporting furniture / any 3D object is still possible from 3d.io, but it should be possible with archilogic.com. You can also directly export collada files from archilogic, but texture export is not yet supported.

Edit: actually archilogic now exports diffuse, normal, and mirrored maps for collada
