Does Chrome.tabCapture.capture automatically disable a tab? Is there any other method that doesn't turn off?

I am trying to capture an audio site. I am testing this on a YouTube video. When I first capture the sound of a tab through chrome.extension.capture, the tab automatically disables itself. Is there an API that does not do this, or is there a way to disable the tab while still capturing the sound?
