Make Xcode the selected highlighted character larger

Xcode emphasizes all occurrences of the character in which the cursor is located. However, underlining will not exactly pop up in the source code. Is it possible to make Xcode a background color highlight like Eclipse? I canโ€™t find anything in the Settings panel.

Xcode:

Xcode

Eclipse:

Eclipse

Find AutoHighlightSymbol in Alcatraz (Xcode Package Manager) . He will do exactly what you want.

After installing the plugin, choose Editor> Edit Color Selection. By default, this is transparent, so you need to choose the one that works best for your color theme.

EDIT: Now that Alcatraz is gone, you will have to install the plugin manually. Download from their GitHub , create a project and restart Xcode - which must be unsigned in order to be able to download third-party packages. Read more about it here .

This is not exactly what you are looking for, but you can check out the Polychromatic Xcode plugin (most easily installed via Alcatraz ). It gives each character a unique color that is used consistently throughout. Therefore, each instance of myVar may be blue, and each instance of myOtherVar may be red.

community!

I have the same problem and I found something similar. (where "currencyId" is selected, the other is its plugin)

enter image description here

I, I think, do it the same way as [ Cmd + E , Cmd + F and Cmd + G combos] But its simpler, you just have to select a word in your code.

How to install it in your Xcode:

  • Launch Xcode
  • In the top menu, select "Window" - "Package Manager"
  • In the search type " highlightSelectedString " enter image description here
  • Install it!
  • Profit

And also you can highlight the highlight color .

  • go to Edit-> Set Highlight color

  • Choose a color

I donโ€™t know how relevant this is, but when you hover over a symbol, a small selection menu appears, and you can select โ€œChange everything in scopeโ€. This underlines all such characters in a much more prominent way. As the name implies, this functionality is for a higher purpose, but I think it will come in handy even for highlighting. I do not know if this feature was available before Xcode 5.
