IOS App Store does not serve the latest version of my application

I have a rather strange problem. Yesterday we released an update (bringing our application to version 1.0.0) in the iOS and Android app stores.

The Android store started working right away, no problem. Only this morning I saw that the iOS App Store was updated.

When using a new iOS device (on which the old version of the application is not installed), downloading the application is fine, but opening the application allows us to see that it is actually an old version (0.9. 3), and not a new version. Further proof is that when you open the application store, it shows that the application needs to be updated. I can click the Refresh button and it will restart the old version again ... and again ... and again.

We were unable to find an iOS device that works; It seems that everything that Apple uses to service the application has not yet been updated to the latest version (since it took only about 30 hours, since we initially pushed the update). However, everything that Apple uses to check for newer versions has been updated, leading to this problem. In other words, it seems that the app store prematurely started listing version 1.0.0, despite the fact that it is not quite ready to start serving it.

Any idea what caused this? I just can’t conclude that this is a mistake on the Apple side, as they might not have noticed this problem in the past.
