Appcelerator does not detect android sdk api

When I try to create an Android distribution for my application through the CLI appcelerator, I get the following error: [ERROR] Target Android SDK API 23 is not installed .

I installed android sdk api 23, but when I run appc ti info -t android it seems that Titanium does not recognize the goals set.

In you, I would not use the Android SDK for a different environment, but I would put Appcelerator to use a special Android SDK containing only API 23, downloaded from Appcelerator Studio. In my experience providing the Titanium SDK downloaded for another purpose (Android native, Ionic, Xamarin, ...) is never a good idea.

I struggled with this problem for about two days, and thanks to the Mauro solution (which I would call correct), the above posted solution could finally solve it. Here is what I suggested. Until March 1, 2017, I was able to successfully use appc in a team to create and run Appcelerator applications using the SDK downloaded via Android Studio. About 3 days ago, I made an overdue update for Android Studio (and probably the SDK) and could no longer work on the command line.

Apparently, on March 1, Google updated the Android SDK to β€œabandon” the android CLI tool, i.e. completely break it, which obviously affected a bunch of build tools that depend on it, such as Unity, Ionic, etc. and I think Appcelerator.

The only tool I have found so far is now using the Android SDK provided by Appcelerator Studio, and not the one installed either by Android Studio or brew , since the android command like the tool stops working as expected before the update.

I had the same problem a few days ago. The solution was to download the SDK version 24.4.1 and replace the tool folder downloaded in my path: "/ Users / nicolascantod / Library / android-sdk-macosx / tools"
