Disabling the Visual Studio Hosting Process in Visual Studio Community 2017

I am trying to disable the output of the vshost.exe file to the release folder. There is a similar question here . This is the Microsoft doc instruction for 2015 and then the link rc 2017 and found this

All of them mention the Enable Visual Studio Hosting checkbox on the Debug properties tab. But this option does not appear on my screen.

I tried this on the property pages for the Consolidated Application and the Windows Application project output types.

Is this feature supported in VS Community 2017 or is there another way to achieve the same result?

This feature seems to be removed in VS 2017. According to this thread as well as this one . Unfortunately, I did not find anything from official sources.

So, I assume that you might have had these files created in previous versions (VS2015?). Try to delete all files from the bin and obj directories and build to see if these files will be created again.

Hope this helps!
