How does Timed Publishing work for new versions (updates) on Google Play?

I know that Time Publishing works for store listings, such as descriptions and screenshots. But I'm not sure how this works to release a new version. I want to download apk, create a release and add a new description and screenshots and save everything ready for release and start living on launch.

But my question is that in the release there is only one button "Start deployment to production." If I click on it, will it be sent to production right away? How can I control the exact time to live? Please help. Thanks.

I see the same behavior, except when I click "Start Deployment in Production", I see a warning message with the message: "Now your application will be available to all users of the Play Store. Continue?" ..... Nooo , we want to use Timed Publishing! :-) So, I think that Timed Publishing does not apply to the first one you published - only to app updates .
