Android Studio, emulator, HAXM, VT-x does not work

I am trying to use the Android Studio emulator in Windows 10. I cannot install HAXM in the SDK folder because VT-x is not enabled. I tried disabling Secure Boot Control in the UEFI firmware settings. I also tried disabling Hyper-V in Windows Features on / off. I also tried disabling the hardware rendering setting in Avast. None of them work, and I still cannot install HAXM.

Just follow these steps:

  • Go to Control Panel β†’ Program and Function.

  • Turn Turn Window features on and off. A window will open.

  • Uncheck Hyper-V and reboot the system.

Now you can start the HAXM installation without any errors.

Hyper-V is only on Windows8.

So follow these steps

First of all, make sure you enable virtualization technology in your BIOS. After the computer restarts, press F1-F12 on the keyboard and find this option.

Make sure you disable Hyper-V in Windows 7 / Windows 8. You can disable it in Control Panel β†’ Programs β†’ Windows Features

Even after enabling VT in the BIOS, Android Studio will not detect this. The solution that worked for me was to perform a cold restart (turn off the PC completely, that is, when you restart it after changing the BIOS settings for VT, turn it off again, unplug it from the network to turn off the motherboard and turn on the power again after 10 seconds. For laptops, I think you need to remove the battery and reconnect it). I have Asus MB.
