You can convert LightSail instance / snapshot to EC2

We combined the box on LightSail because of its simplicity, but now we are looking for a few more complex things. Is there a way to take a snapshot from LightSail and deploy an ec2 instance using the LightSail image.

Our ultimate goal is simply to get an ec2 image with the image we worked with under LightSail.

There is nothing close to this in the API docs for LightSail. Any ideas?

There is no link to this feature in the documentation or in the official AWS support forums for Lightsail or EC2.

Lightsail does not disclose any of the basic resources that it allocates to you in its native services (EC2, EBS, Route 53, etc.), therefore it seems a reasonable premise that (at least on this spelling) it is not available .

You can, of course, establish network connections from Lightsail to other AWS services (such as RDS or EC2 instances) with VPC peering .
