How can google home app automatically get wifi password on Android?

As you and I already know, all Android applications cannot read other application data mostly without root. (starting with the sandbox system.)

But the recently released google Home app checks the saved wifi password on the phone and connects the device with its password. How can it be? I could not understand that such behavior is possible.

I confirmed that it works, even though I signed out of my google account. (This means that the wifi password comes from the saved local device configuration).

Google has announced that auto-sampling only works after candy.

I also ask myself this question. In my experience, it’s possible that the Amazon Alexa app comes with this feature.
