Eclipse android project always fond of debugging

It seems silly to me to ask about it and even silly to have this problem. I have an Android project that is still working fine.

but a couple of days ago, if I didn’t do anything special that I know about, my project always started in debugging no matter what I try (clicking on debugging or starting gives me the same result). I try to find in the project settings and assembly configurations, but I see nothing that justifies this.

so now every time I run the application, I have to go to go to the debug tab and click on disconnect ...

Any ideas

Have you checked the launch settings menu? Perhaps you may have extraneous configurations that Eclipse performs by default when you choose to start a project.

Otherwise, there is the option "Run in debug mode when the workspace contains breakpoints" in the Run / Debug → Launching preference page . You might want to check that this option is not enabled.

As a last resort, when you come across these kinds of quirks, I sometimes create a new project and copy the files from the source files (assuming the project is not very large). Closing and restarting Eclipse sometimes also works wonders for me.

Reboot device

I had the same problem when my application always started in debug mode. Rebooting the device did the trick for me.

As mentioned above, the problem is that the device does not overshadow.

Restarting the device will work, but also killing the application thread / process in DDMS will do the same job.

In the emulator, go to App Drawer, launch the "Dev Tools" application. Inside, select "Development Settings." Verify that the Debug App field is set to (none).

Well, I know that I was a little late with this, but found a solution. This may not be acceptable to someone, but, again, it solved the problem. I just reset my phone to factory settings. After that, I was able to install the application without receiving the message “pending debugger to attach”.

This time I ran into the same problem, but none of the above solutions worked for me (except factory reset, I don't want to do it yet).

As stated by Kennifer, the problem is with the device, as it only happens on my Zync Z5 phone (I have several other Android devices on which the application runs in Run mode and not Debug mode).

The only trick that worked for me was to remove the launch configuration every time I wanted to start the application after debugging, but it is annoying to do this every time I need to debug.

I tried everything here and was surprised by the overwhelming acceptance of the top answer

Restart device

then I realized: "this is a development phone, stop treating it like a business server" and proceeded to restart.

It’s worth the risk of answering in order to support this decision as a last resort.

My result is that the application quickly but calmly died. Result !: (

My version of Eclipse: Luna.

My case: The option Run in debug mode when the workspace contains breakpoints is never executed, but eclipse starts in debug mode.

My decision:

  • Go to Window-> Preferences-> Run / Debug-> Launching.
  • Mark the prompt in the Run in debug mode option when the workspace contains breakpoints.
  • Launch.
  • A dialog box appears: breakpoints are enabled in the workspace. Would you rather run in debug mode?
  • Remember my solution, then click No, and the problem is resolved.
