Show Javascript error counter in Firefox without opening a console

Now that Firebug has been enabled in Firefox, how do I configure the browser to bring Javascript errors to my attention without opening the console all the time, as Firebug did, displaying the number of errors on the toolbar icon?

Firefox DevTools has a so-called “developer toolbar”, also known as GCLI (opened through the Firefox> Developer menu> developer toolbar or Shift + F2 ), which displays the number of errors on the page (in addition to providing many useful commands):

The DevTools team obviously plans to remove the developer toolbar due to low usage and because it is not supported and available for most of its functions elsewhere.

However, there is no replacement yet for the number of errors, but a comment on the corresponding error report indicates that it will be added back .

Other options are the use of the Chrome JavaScript Error Notifier extension. To install it in Firefox, you first need to install another Chrome Store Foxified extension in which you can install any Chrome extension from Chrome Web Store in Firefox. You can follow the Chrome Store Foxified instructions to install extensions. (Note that not all Chrome extensions will work in Firefox.)

If you want to constantly install the Chrome extension, you will need to sign up for Mozilla to get the added subscription.
