Genymotion makes no sound

there. I use Genymotion for testing. I am developing an Android application. This app can make sound. then I tried to check the android application. But it will not sound.

My environment is a Macbook. and also Virtual box - 5.1. and VMDevice is Google Nexus 4 with API level 22. it would not produce any sound, even if I could change the sound volume to genymotion.

What versions of VirtualBox are compatible with Genymotion?

• 5.1+ versions are not recommended, as they lead to problems with sound.
• To start virtual devices, you must install Oracle VM VirtualBox 5.0.28.
• Genymotion may work with older versions, but we cannot guarantee this.

therefore, you must use version 5.0 or older to work with sound

It took me a long time, finally got an answer.

Several versions of VirtualBox are known to cause problems in Genymotion. For Genymotion to work correctly, make sure you have the correct version of VirtualBox installed:

Mac OS X: 5.0.26 (sound issue prevents version 5.0.28 from starting)
Windows: 5.0.28
Linux: 5.0.28
In any case, do not use version 5.1.x, as they are known to cause sound problems and, in some cases, prevent Genymotion from starting.

I also had no sound when using Windows 10 1709, VirtualBox 5.1.26 and Genymotion 2.11.0.

I noticed this line in VBox.log:

Audio: skip to create the input stream "[LUN # 0] ac97.mc" because the audio backend host has reached the maximum number of parallel audio input streams

Which solved my problem without sound in order to activate "Stereomix" on the recording devices in the Windows Sound settings. For an unknown reason, it was disabled.

For me, adjusting the sound effect settings in the sound settings did the trick. You must open the emulator after setting the destination.
