How to start a project in Jetbrain Rider?

I recently started to learn C # and I really like the Jetbrains IDE, so I decided to pick up the Rider at an early stage of development. Since this is a completely new medium, I could hardly find any information about it.

My problem is that I just can’t start my project, I have Mono installed and I gave it a path to the IDE, but it still doesn’t work “without projects”.

Do I need something aside from Mono? Or what would you advise me to check?

Create a new project:

New project

Write your code:

My file

Press Ctrl + F5 and you will see this window:

Configuration

Now just click Run . The next time you need to build it, you will not see the configuration settings, but it will still start the project. :)

In the comments, it was decided to create a console application instead of an empty solution, or if a problem has already arisen, you should go to the project properties and select your language.

This happened to me now, starting with the new angular project created in dotnet.

What I did to solve it was to right-click and then add an existing project.

add existing project
