Please follow the instructions below.

• You need to go through the azure portal and select your API, then click on the Publisher Portal in the upper left corner.
• Go through the API and then Products .
• Click the ADD API TO PRODUCTS button, and then select the appropriate option.
• Go to the azure portal again, but click Developer Portal in the upper left corner.
• Click the ComboBox on the right and select Profile .
• You can see the access keys for the products and select the key for the product that you selected in the previous steps (Starter or no restrictions).

It is also called the Software Key . As of January 2018, if you go to luis.ai, you can find it in the settings (when you click on your name in the upper right corner).

Not sure why the LUIS Api docs say the key is in azure mode and why there is a difference in names: /
