APK file does not exist

I recently updated my android studio and started getting this error:

The APK file \ app \ build \ output \ apk \ app-debug.apk does not exist on disk. Error installing APK

This is pretty unpleasant since I tried everything I got on the Internet and nothing worked.

As far as I know, the path to app-debug.apk is correct and it exists. If anyone has an understanding, please help!

TEMPORARY FIXES

  • Run in release mode works. ~ Thanks Umer Farooq
  • Running it with a custom build option also works and gives a little more freedom than just the release mode. ~ Thanks Prashant Shable

These fixes are good for starting your current project, but do not fix the original problem. Give them a try if nothing works for you and you are tired of seeing the error. :)

PERSONAL FIX

I would say that it was difficult, but it really is not. I had a "special character" in the name of the My Users folder. This seems to be causing the problem. This was pointed out in the comments of Umer Farooq's answer .

Concluding observations

I wanted to thank everyone for their help. I think that all of these answers will be a good reference for future AS users with this problem.

Manually delete the apk folder from the project directory, then clean and rebuild the project in Android studio.

Project folder ---> build ----> exits ---> apk (delete folder)

Clean and rebuild in AndroidStudio
