In fact, there was an error where Hibernate was used by default for the SQL Server 2000 dialect when using SQL Server 2014. This error was resolved (in versions 5.2.0 and 5.1.1), and the solution was:

Version 12 has been added to the switch statement, so SQLServer2012Dialect is now returned by default because SQL Server 2014 is much more similar to SQL Server 2012 than to SQL Server 2000

Over time, SQLServer2014Dialect will appear, which, of course, means that you will switch to this dialect.
