How do you show the number of notifications on the icon with the reaction to the native one, like a photo?

Icon number setting is only supported on iOS. To imperatively set the icon number, you can use, for example. PushNotificationIOS.setApplicationIconBadgeNumber . See how to configure PushNotificationIOS in RN docs .

There are also a number of third-party libraries available for this, with push notification processing for Android and iOS if you need it.

Although vanilla Android does not support icon numbers, the same effect can be achieved using a widget or a custom launcher. See this question for more information.
