User intention for domain medical application

With the release of iOS 10, SiriKit is available for developers to make Siri apps enabled. But from SiriKit Documentation, it seems SiriKit supports specific domain applications.

Apple currently offers the following domains:

  • VoIP call
  • posts
  • Payments
  • Photo
  • Workouts
  • Travel trip
  • CarPlay (car manufacturers only)
  • Restaurant reservation (additional support from Apple is required).

But my application is in a medical domain that is not listed above. I want the Siri app to make an appointment with his / her favorite doctor, at possible time intervals, or to find a doctor depending on the location and purpose of the book.

So, is it possible to create a custom INIntent to support these functions?

No, you cannot on iOS 10. This is purely a hypothesis, but creating a completely new intention probably requires a lot more work on Siri servers:

  • required dictionary for all supported langugages
  • comparing which parts of pronunciations should be part of the Siri dictionary and which should be part of your applications.
  • development of the process / processes necessary to fulfill the intention (determination of parameters, confirmation, etc.).
