What is the best VB.NET control (standard / custom) to display a list of files?

I am developing the Desktop Search Engine in VB.NET, and I am looking for a powerful, flexible and feature-rich control to display search results, i.e. file list.

If you use WinForms, the standard is to use TreeView for ListView folders for files / results.

If you take your time, it might be interesting to use your own WPF. That would be much more flexible, but also a lot more work.

The System.Windows.Forms.ListView element is probably the most similar to what Windows itself uses to render lists of files and folders in Explorer.
