How to remove an application from iOS Xcode Simulator?

Just in case, we can remove applications by resetting the contents and settings, but a separate application can also be removed from the simulator in Xcode 7. This is not the case in Xcode 8. How can this be achieved? I have a forced touch trackpad, does this affect the removal of the application from the simulator?

I struggled with this for too long until I realized. I am surprised how difficult it is to find information about this ...

As you already mentioned, this is a problem only when using a trackpad that supports Force Click. @ pingkai.tse the answer is good, but for me the shutdown of "Use TrackPad Force" is not saved - I have to turn it off every time I restart the simulator.

The trick is to click without causing a push gesture. This is difficult at first, but after some practice you will get it. On the trackpad, tap very easily in the app and hold it long enough to trigger a long press. While holding, if you see that the text starts to blur, you apply too much pressure and instead launch Force Click.

  • Open the simulator.

  • Locate the Hardware tab on the tool screen.

  • Deselect "Press Pressure and use the power of the TrackPad."

Just hold alt while pressing the touchpad.

For iOS 11 simulator, you can just hold and then release the application icon :)

Step 1: On the simulator, go to the main screen with the command + shift + H

Step 2: press + hold the application icon, release when the "x" icon appears in the upper left corner of the icon

Step 3: Press the “x” button and select “Uninstall” for any applications that you want to uninstall.

Step 4: When done, press + shift + H again to return the simulator to normal

With the Force Touch trackpad, just make sure you don’t press it fully when you click on the icon. Use a normal click.

In Xcode 8, use the mouse pointer to click on the simulator screen until the icons begin to move. It works for me.

You have 3D Touch mode enabled, gently press and hold “ VERY ” (just feel a click, than hold this force or less) on the application icon on the simulator’s home page ... Or, in the system settings, turn off “Force click and tactile strike”. feedback, "then go back to the simulator and continue to click on the application icon to remove it. I prefer the latter because I cannot find this feature of my Mac useful.

Just press and hold the application icon with the forced touch panel turned on ... New MBPs work well with the simulator in my experience. If not, follow the advice above.
