Notepad ++ How to insert a row in multiple lines

Alt + Shift + DownKey to select the beginning of each line, and then Ctrl + V paste only in the first line.

Expected Behavior: Insert my line into all highlighted lines.

Using Notepad ++ v5.9

1) Mark

2) Press Alt+c to open the Column editor

3) Enter the text there

As @chapo commented, it now works great with Alt-Shift-Down and then inserts.

Can you select a column using Alt + Shift + Down, enter one unique character, then use Search + Replace so that your text is inserted the way you want?
