Could not find executable file for jre1.8.0_77

Says at my eclipse "Unable to find executable for jre1.8.0_77." He also uninstalled JREs :( I tried to run my project and went to Windows and settings to add it, but I could not.

  • Go to Windows> Settings.
  • Find Java> Installed JREs. (Or just type JRE in the search box).
  • A list of JREs will appear on the screen.
  • Click the "Add" button, find the new folder on your computer and select.
  • Remove the old JRE from the list.

You may have upgraded the Java version, but the PC environment variable for the JRE still refers to the old version of the JRE. If you have updated Java, also update the environment variable.

I recently encountered the same problem
this happened after i updated my jre
because of this there was a mismatch with the jdk and jre versions

uninstalled Java and installed the new JDK ( SE ). https://www.oracle.com/technetwork/java/javase/downloads/jdk8-downloads-2133151.html
now both JDK and JRE are the same
