Use SCNNode as a "mask"?

Is it possible to make the node visualize β€œclear” so that when drawing, all views are displayed under the appearance of the scene where the node is usually displayed?

For example, suppose our SCNView has a red UIView behind it. Using the sphere as an example, you will see a circular β€œhole” in the scene where the red view will be displayed.

Any ideas? Will this be due to some kind of shader?
