How to disable automatic saving to the Internet

I am developing with meteor and Webstorm, as the meteorite automatically updates the browser, and Webstorm saves after you stop typing. This is annoying. I checked my settings and I see that I automatically save "automatically". How to completely stop the automatic save function in the web storm?

Auto save can be disabled using the options shown in this screenshot .

Settings> General> Sync> Uncheck the boxes below:

  • Saving files when deactivating a frame
  • Save files automatically if the application is not used to ...

Remember that the file browsing function can override this behavior for certain types of files (if enabled).

Saving will also occur automatically during certain actions (starting the configuration, exit the IDE, closing the project, etc.).

There seems to be no way to make Webstorm 9 behave like a standard text editor.

The closer you can get:

  • Settings / Appearance and behavior / System settings / Save file when deactivating a frame: not checked
  • Settings / Appearance and behavior / System settings / Automatically save files if ...: not checked
  • Settings / Editor / General / Editor tabs / Mark changed tabs with an asterisk: checked

The resulting behavior:

  • Changes are not automatically saved to file
  • If you close the modified file, a warning is not displayed.
  • If you close the modified file and then open it again, the changes were not lost.
