Does the app restrict the Google Play Store app to specific countries and also prohibit public beta access?

I have an application that is currently in a public beta and I am interested in publishing it for production, but I want the production version to be limited to specific countries (due to localization problems). I know that there is an opportunity to limit the application to specific countries, to which I can not find the answer, will it limit my public beta. I want public beta to be available to all countries.

Quoting from Play Store support :

Changes in pricing and distribution . If you make any changes to the pricing and distribution page of the application, this affects the current and future production, alpha and beta versions of the application.

Country restrictions appear to also affect alpha and beta testing.

Very bad.

You may have a separate access list for the beta version. Just go to MANAGE BETA , then select Manage Country Availability .

Here is a screenshot of how you can restrict countries separately for beta

As a workaround, I would suggest creating a second application identifier for testing Alpha and Beta and keeping my main application identifier exclusively for Production. This is not ideal, although to switch users from the beta to the final version.

If your application already has a beta version, you can launch production in some countries by continuing beta testing in other countries.

Distribute app releases in specific countries

Country Orientation In addition to the availability configured for production, you can customize country orientation for alpha and beta versions. By default, your alpha and beta versions correspond to the availability of the country that you configured for production.

Prerequisite: You can configure the availability of the country for the alpha or beta version of your application in the following cases:

Your application does not have an APK uploaded to production, or your application has an APK uploaded to production, and at least one country is available on the work track. To change the availability of the alpha and beta versions of the application:

1. Go to the game console .

2. Select an application.

3. Select Release Management> Application Releases.

4. Next to the track you want to update, select "Manage."

5. In the "Availability by Country" section, select Availability Management .

6. Review the table showing the included countries.

  • Synchronized with production . The availability of the country for your alpha or beta version corresponds to the availability of your application.

  • Accessibility setting . You can choose the country availability for your alpha or beta track of your application, which is different from the production one.

7. Update country availability.

8. Submit your application update.

See an example

Add or remove country to tracks synchronized with production

After adding or removing a country on the pricing and distribution page of the application, it is automatically added or removed from tracks that are synchronized with production (as described above).

If you configured the availability of a custom country on the app’s release page for an alpha or beta track, you need to add or remove a country separately for this track.

Add or remove a country only in alpha or beta

If you want to add the country to the beta version without changing other tracks, you can:

On the Pricing and Distribution page, mark the country as available, but do not load the APK into production. Then the beta version of your application by default corresponds to this availability. Or, on the Prices and Distribution page, select at least one country that will be available for your application. Then custom country targeting on the app releases page for your beta release. To remove a country that is only in beta:

1. Log in to your game console .

2. Select an application.

3. Select Release Management> Application Releases.

4.To go to the beta version, select " Management".

5. Select Custom Availability.

6. Mark the country as unavailable.
