Error: failed to start when running on ipad

After much disappointment, finally, I got the application to run on the ipad without errors. However, this does not work. He gives the following error. My application runs on the simulator, but does not work on the ipad and gives an error below. Im really not sure why. I went to the described folder, the structure of which is as follows.

Products .DS_Store Debug-iphoneos .DS_Store sampleproject.app sampleproject.app.dSYM Debug-iphonesimulator .DS_Store sampleproject.app sampleproject.app.dSYM error: failed to launch '/Users/x/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/sampleproject/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos/sampleproject.app/myProject' -- No such file or directory (/Users/x/Library/Developer/Xcode/DerivedData/sampleproject/Build/Products/Debug-iphoneos/sampleproject.app/myProject)

It just had the same error on Xcode 4.3.2 with the target iPad3 5.1, but after that you can create and run on my device:

Deleted my DerivedData directory (emptied trash too)
   Quit xcode
   Disconnected iPad USB
   Rebooted mac
Rebooted iPad (power down and back up)
   Reconnected iPad USB.
   Restarted Xcode with project
Confirmed build for debug on device selected.
   Clicked run

I do not know if all these steps are required. This is a short answer, since it does not explain the problem and does not provide the correct solution. I expect more from Apple; I searched for the best answer, but found nothing.

Rebooting to solve problems is not a solution! OTOH, this allowed me to continue my work, so ... a little blessing.

Removing the DerivedData directory and restarting Xcode worked for me. A simple restart of xcode did not.

Tarrynโ€™s following suggestion to remove DerriveData leads to another โ€œNo Code Sign foundโ€ issue that draws my attention to the Code Sign section in my build setup. The debugging code icon is set to Do Not Allow. Changing it back to my iOS developer profile solves the problem.

If someone gets this problem and follows the path suggested by Terrin, there is one more step that you can try to solve.

Very frustrating, but in the end, just leaving Xcode and restarting Xcode seems to fix the problem.

Firstly, Xcode is enough and restart, it will work thinly.

Another cause of this problem

Choosing the wrong mobileprovisioning profile. For example, you may have a distribution profile selected in debug mode, Xcode will not allow the application to run in debug mode.

To fix this

  • Select project file in Xcode
  • Select Build Settings
  • Code Signature Search
  • Confirm that the development profile is selected for the "Development" assembly

It seems that the goal is not necessarily set correctly. What is the name of Target? I see Virgin Atlantic there, but the root of the project is the "model of the project"?

This happened with Xcode 7.1.1 with OSX Yosemite.

Followed all the steps of @tarryn (accepted answer) but did not restart my mac. Rebooting mac eventually solved the problem for me.

Disconnecting the iPad and reconnecting to it just worked for me.
