There are several settings that can affect soft packaging in Atom. They are all in the Settings view, accessed by pressing ⌘ (command + comma) if you use standard buttons on OS X.
First, to enable soft wrap, select the Soft Wrap check box. This will allow soft packaging at the edge of the window:

If you want to gently wrap the line on the right side of the editor, check the box next to "Soft cover at preferred line length":

The line indicates your preferred line length, and you can change its position by editing the number in the "Preferred line length" section, which affects the wrapper with the option enabled:

Finally, if you want the wrapped lines to be indented a little, you can set the value in the "Soft Wrap Reject" option:
